How to open a massage parlor from scratch: a business plan with calculations. Business plan for an enterprise providing massage services

Do you want to start your own massage business, but don’t know how to open a massage parlor. On this page you can download or read a ready-made standard business plan for a massage parlor for free. The proposed materials can be used as a ready-made template when drawing up a business plan. In addition, you can create your own massage parlor business plan, changing it or adding to it at your discretion.

Business plan for a massage parlor - example.

During the existence of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, massage was possible only in medical institutions. Now in our country, massage services are provided by any establishments related to the beauty industry: hairdressers, beauty salons, fitness clubs, as well as massage parlors or massage studios. Using small investments at the initial stage, you can quickly return these amounts, since your project will pay off in just three or four months. The popularity of the massage business also depends on the fact that there is no need to obtain permits and a license from the Ministry of Health to provide cosmetic or relaxation massage services. A license is only required if you plan to provide chiropractic services.

Premises for a massage parlor, or rather the search for it, should begin when you have finally decided on the category of your potential visitors.

The location of your salon does not matter at all if massage is performed by people who need it for medical reasons, since clients in this case pay attention to the specialist, and not to the location of the salon.

If your future clients are ordinary people who use massage services for their own pleasure, then they will not want to visit a salon that is located far away. Statistics show that only thirty percent of people go to a massage parlor for medical reasons, while the rest use massage services for a relaxing and pleasant effect. As a result, it is not at all necessary to locate your massage parlor in the central areas of the city.

The first floor of the building is ideal for these purposes, as it will be convenient, first of all, for your clients. About eight square meters of space should be per person (according to SES standards). It is desirable that each massage therapist have a separate room (office) for work, but it is also possible to place 2 specialists in one room, the area of which must be at least twelve meters.

In general, the area of the massage salon premises is determined from the number of massage therapists (preferably no more than five), taking into account the reception area and the salon administrator's room. Seventy to one hundred square meters will be enough. If you already have a large number of professional personnel, then it is better to open several massage parlors in your city than one, but large one.

The equipment and tools of a massage salon include a mandatory bathroom. For clients' relaxation, a bathtub can also be installed. Ceramic tiles (washable wallpaper) must cover the walls and floor of the massage room - in accordance with SES standards. This is necessary for their weekly treatment with special means.

Special equipment of the massage salon: 1) massage tables, each of which costs about 15 thousand rubles; 2) 2-3 couches, the cost of each is about 4 thousand rubles; 3) a folding portable couch, which is useful for serving clients on the road. All of the equipment listed can be purchased at a specialized medical equipment store.

The salon furniture is quite ordinary: 1) a table and sofa in the reception area will cost you 30 thousand rubles; 2) cabinets or racks for cosmetics, the cost of which is about 10 thousand rubles.

A regular massage can be done using plain olive oil. For more complex types of massage or for relaxation, you can use essential oils. Wholesale centers sell such oils at 30 percent cheaper than in stores; in addition, you can purchase a batch of various oils from 7 to 10 pieces each. A bottle of essential oil, which is added 1 drop to the base oil, is usually enough for one hundred massage sessions, and a bottle of base oil (100 ml) is used for four or five sessions.

A washing machine should be among your purchases at the initial stage, because... Clean towels are a mandatory attribute of massage parlors. According to statistics, you need to lay out twenty clean towels with a flow of visitors of fifteen people a day.

Massage parlor staff. The success of your massage parlor directly depends on the professionalism of your staff. People usually go to a specific specialist and this is not discussed. The staff can work in shifts - 2-3 specialists work in shifts in one office. Or you can use staff work on order, when a certain specialist comes to the office of a certain client.

It is, of course, worth looking for such specialists, because... experienced craftsmen usually conduct private practice. You can also find them from your competitors, offering massage therapists higher wages and working conditions. It is also possible to use advertisements in the media or the services of an employment service, but this will take time, and besides, in this case you will not know what level of specialist is in front of you. Information about whether the future employee has regular clients can help in choosing employees.

When hiring, narrow specialists obviously lose out to generalists. Clients who visit the salon for pleasure and relaxation quickly get bored with the same type of massage. Therefore, they give preference to masters who master European and Oriental massage techniques.

Employers are very attracted to situations where specialists are interested in improving their skills; these could be courses in new areas of massage and spa treatments (for example, yoga massage).

A massage therapist's salary is usually 30-50 percent of the cost of a session. It, of course, depends on how many people a massage therapist can serve per day (4-8 people) and on his experience.

The administrator and accountant who should be in your salon receive a salary of ten thousand rubles. At the initial stage of opening a salon, you can perform these functions yourself, thus perhaps saving a little.

Finding clients for a massage parlor is essentially word of mouth. According to experts, this is the most effective way to attract customers. A good sign will definitely help attract customers from nearby houses. Leaflets, advertisements, etc. can be placed and distributed in residential buildings and at transport stops - this will also attract a certain segment of your customer base. And the most expensive advertising information in the media (from the experience of entrepreneurs) brings the most minimal effect, oddly enough.

Payback of a massage parlor. Experienced entrepreneurs of this type of business note that in the first month of work, usually 5-8 people visit it, in the following months - 7-9 clients.

A classic session can last from 20 to 60 minutes, and a relaxing massage can last up to an hour and a half. The massage therapist must restore his strength within twenty minutes between sessions. Thus, if your salon is fully loaded: two workplaces, 3-4 specialists, then every day you will be able to serve about fifteen clients. This situation may arise as early as the third month of your regular work.

The market for massage services is also subject to seasonal changes, as experienced entrepreneurs note. The peak of activity occurs in the spring - clients want to look good for the summer holidays. In autumn and winter, clients show a fairly average interest in massage, and in summer there is a decline in demand for such services.

Relaxation and anti-cellulite massage, which attract about seventy percent of clients, are therefore the most popular services in the massage parlor. Currently, services such as yoga, qigong and Thai techniques are in great demand. The cost of these services and a relaxing massage ranges from one to one and a half thousand rubles, while a classic massage (1 session): three hundred rubles for a back massage, seven hundred rubles for a full body massage.

20-30 percent is the profitability of the massage business. Within a year, your salon should pay for itself, according to experts, and in the best case, this period is reduced to 3-4 months.

Expansion of this type of business is very possible:

1. massage and beauty salon,

3. a relaxation and recreation center, which may have a sauna (bath) and even a swimming pool.

Financial component of the massage business.

The calculation for a massage salon with an area of seventy square meters includes 2 tables for massage and 4 massage therapists working in shifts and receiving 40 percent of each order as wages.

Costs for opening a massage parlor include: 1) renovation of the premises (200 thousand rubles), 2) massage table (8 thousand rubles), 3) telephone (500 rubles), 4) connection to the room (9 thousand rubles), 5) towels (2 thousand rubles), 6) furniture (40 thousand rubles), 7) washing machine (10 thousand rubles), 8) sign and advertising leaflets (30 thousand rubles). Thus, the total amount of expenses is 299 thousand 500 rubles, with an income of 360 thousand rubles.

Expenses that are constantly needed: 1) rent of premises (70 thousand rubles), 2) telephone charges (2 thousand rubles), 3) wages of an administrator and accountant (20 thousand rubles). The total cost, therefore, is 92 thousand rubles.

Variable expenses include: 1) wages of massage therapists (144 thousand rubles), 2) massage oils (40 thousand rubles), 3) unforeseen expenses (2,760 rubles). The total amount of variable expenses is 278 thousand 760 rubles.

Thus, the massage salon’s profit before taxes is 81 thousand 240 rubles, with the salon’s profitability of 29 percent, and the entry threshold is 481 thousand 435 rubles.

* The calculations use average data for Russia

1. PROJECT SUMMARY

The goal of the project is to organize a massage parlor in Yekaterinburg. The salon is focused on providing classical wellness type massage services. This massage is indicated for relieving muscle tension, improving overall health, getting rid of drowsiness, apathy; stimulates the cardiovascular system and metabolism; activates physical and mental activity. This type of massage has no contraindications for age and a very narrow list of contraindications for health reasons. Price segment – average; The salon is aimed at the widest audience.

Investment costs are aimed at equipping the premises, purchasing the necessary equipment, licensing activities, and also not forming a working capital fund until the enterprise reaches payback. The volume of investment costs is 676 thousand rubles. Payback period – 4 months. The main indicators of the project's effectiveness are given in Table. 1.

Table 1. Key project performance indicators

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY AND INDUSTRY

Massage is a medical service. The medical services market is inextricably linked with macroeconomic indicators (Table 2). Experts note the stable growth of this sector of the economy - both paid medical services and the market as a whole due to the paid segment (Fig. 1).

Thousands of ideas for making quick money. The whole world experience is in your pocket..

As can be seen from the above data, the segment of paid services is growing steadily; The share of the “shadow” segment is decreasing, which, according to experts (RBC research), is due to the consequences of the 2008 crisis, as a result of which people began to spend the money they earned more rationally and meaningfully.

The main trends in the paid medical services market include:

    competition between private clinics and paid departments of public medical institutions

    low degree of market consolidation – the share of large holdings is 9% of the total volume

    increasing the share of the segment due to the low quality of free services in government institutions under compulsory medical insurance

    in the VHI segment, more than 80% falls on corporate insurance

Experts make the following predictions for the near future:

    decrease in segment volume in physical terms by 16% (until 2017)

    some segment growth in monetary terms

    outflow of clients to the compulsory medical insurance and shadow medicine segments due to a decrease in the solvency of the population

Figure 3. Popularity of medical services in Russia, used by % of the total number of respondents

As can be seen from Fig. 3, massage is a fairly popular medical service, used by about 17% of the population.

The company is located in Yekaterinburg, which is the administrative center of the Ural Federal District and the Sverdlovsk Region. Ekaterinburg is the largest administrative, cultural, scientific and educational center of the Ural region, one of the largest economic centers in the world, and is included in the list of 600 largest cities in the world, producing 60% of global GDP. The population of the city is 1.44 million people. Thus, the actual market volume for the project is 1.44 * 16.9% = 0.24 million people.

The project provides for the creation of an enterprise from scratch and the recruitment of a team of specialists.

3. DESCRIPTION OF GOODS AND SERVICES

The company provides therapeutic massage services in Yekaterinburg. A general wellness massage is indicated for relieving muscle tension, improving overall health, and getting rid of drowsiness and lethargy. Massage stimulates the cardiovascular system, activates metabolism, mental and physical activity. Massage is recommended for:

    disorders of the nervous system

    recovery after injuries and surgeries

    hyper- and hypotonicity of muscles

    venous stagnation

    chronic headaches

    painful sensations in the back and neck (osteochondrosis and other diseases)

During the procedure, the specialist acts on all areas of the body except the head: legs, buttocks, back and neck, arms, chest, abdomen. The impact is carried out in various ways: stroking, rubbing, kneading, vibration.

Wellness massage procedures have no age restrictions; There is a small list of restrictions due to health reasons:

    the presence of inflammatory processes in the acute stage

    increased body temperature, fever

    blood diseases, bleeding tendency

    purulent processes

    skin diseases

    allergic, mental, respiratory diseases

    tumors of various origins

    chronic osteomyelitis

The standard procedure lasts 45 minutes. The session is carried out in a specially prepared room on a comfortable massage table. Only qualified specialists with certificates of professional massage therapist are allowed to perform procedures.

The cost of the session is 1,500 rubles. Four massage tables operate simultaneously.

4. SALES AND MARKETING

The target audience of the project is men and women aged 5–60 years, with an average income level. At the same time, the presence of any diseases (indications for massage) is not mandatory, since clients can attend massage sessions without a doctor’s prescription, at their own request, including for the purpose of relaxation.

However, as one of the channels for promoting the project’s services, the motivation of general practitioners, neurologists and others working in public medical institutions in the city of Yekaterinburg is used. If indicated, motivated doctors recommend the company’s services and give the patient a business card with the salon’s contact information.

The market capacity can be estimated at 240 thousand people. or, with a session cost of 1,500 rubles. and a planned load of 80% of the maximum possible - 288 million rubles. per year (provided that the potential client gets a massage at least once a year).

The location of the salon is of great importance for the success of the project. When choosing a location, we took into account accessibility for potential clients both with a personal car and those using public transport, ease of parking and ease of search. A room with an area of 40 m2 was selected on the territory of the state diagnostic center. The center has its own parking lot, as well as public transport stops in the immediate vicinity.

Ready ideas for your business

In addition, an important success factor is the high qualifications of the project personnel. When selecting personnel, special attention is paid to the presence of a certificate of completion of training, as well as experience as a massage therapist for at least three years; It is desirable to have positive recommendations.

In addition, the company’s website and social media groups are used for promotion. The following social networks can be considered relevant for promoting the project: vk.com, ok.ru, Instagram. Interesting and useful content is posted in the groups, and competitions with prize drawings are also held. In addition, social networks serve to collect feedback from salon clients.

According to wordstat.yandex.ru, over the last month there were 17,625 impressions for the request “massage Ekaterinburg”, which indicates a high demand for the service (Fig. 4).

Figure 4. Yandex search queries “massage Ekaterinburg”

Ready ideas for your business

Today, more than 100 officially registered salons and individual massage therapists operate in Yekaterinburg. At the same time, many of them specialize in certain types of massage - tonic, anti-cellulite, and so on, which are not therapeutic. Direct competitors include only salons (and not massage therapists practicing at home) that provide health (medical) massage services. There are about 20 such salons in Yekaterinburg. The cost of a session ranges from 1200 – 1600 rubles. At the same time, most of them have a number of disadvantages: inconvenient location, low-level premises, old equipment. In addition, only three of them use motivation of medical personnel as a method of promoting their services. Thus, we can conclude that the project is highly competitive.

The demand for project services does not have a pronounced seasonality, however, some peaks and valleys can be noted throughout the year. For example, during the summer holidays demand decreases somewhat, but during the New Year holidays it increases. The seasonality factor was taken into account when forming the financial plan for the project.

5. PRODUCTION PLAN

The project involves the provision of services in rented premises. The premises are rented from the municipal diagnostic center; room area – 40 m2. The room has all the necessary communications and a separate entrance, but requires additional equipment for the purposes of the project.

The main equipment for massage are massage tables. We purchase high-comfort tables made in Europe, which, unlike most used by competitors, have a number of adjustments for the convenience of the client.

The website is developed by a local design studio. It also supports and promotes it with the help of contextual advertising in search engines. Groups on social networks are created and maintained by the project initiator.

Registration for massage sessions is carried out by phone or through the salon’s website. The logbook is kept by the salon administrator.

6. ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

The project is not limited in time. The planning horizon is five years. The decision on further work or liquidation of the project is made by the project initiator based on an analysis of the market situation and economic conditions.

The project implementation process can be divided into two main stages – preparatory and operational. The duration of the preparatory stage is one month. During this time, the preparation of the premises, the purchase of equipment, the development of a website and its promotion, as well as the licensing of the salon are carried out. Then the operational phase begins.

In order to implement the project, an individual entrepreneur is registered. The form of taxation is the simplified tax system with the object of taxation “income minus expenses”, rate 15%.

The organizational structure of the project is simple and implies the direct subordination of all employees to the project initiator. Particular attention is paid to the qualifications of massage therapists, since it directly affects the success and competitiveness of the project.

7. FINANCIAL PLAN

The financial plan is drawn up for a five-year period and takes into account all income and expenses of the project. Revenue refers to revenue from operating activities; other types of income are not provided for by the project. The revenue of the first year of the project is 8.6 million rubles; net profit of the first year (after taxes) – 3.5 million rubles. Annual revenue after achieving planned sales volumes is 10 million rubles, net profit is 4.6 million rubles.

Investment costs amount to 706,000 rubles. They are aimed at preparing the premises, purchasing equipment, initial advertising and promotion of the project, licensing activities, as well as the formation of a working capital fund, from which losses are covered until the project reaches payback (Table 4). The project initiator’s own funds are 350,000 rubles. The shortage of investment funds is planned to be covered by attracting a bank loan for a period of 24 months at 18% per annum. Loan repayment is carried out in annuity payments, loan holidays are 3 months.

Since it is quite difficult to determine the variable costs of a massage session, all project costs are assigned to fixed costs. They include rent, utility bills, advertising, costs of motivating agents (medical staff of public health institutions), as well as depreciation charges (Table 5). The amount of depreciation charges is determined by the straight-line method, based on the useful life of fixed assets and intangible assets of five years.

Table 5. Fixed costs

A detailed financial plan is given in Appendix. 1.

8. EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS

Assessment of the effectiveness and investment attractiveness of the project is carried out on the basis of a detailed analysis of the financial plan and cash flows, as well as simple and integral performance indicators (Table 1). To account for changes in the value of money over time, the discounted cash flow method is used. The discount rate is 18% and is equal to the bank loan rate.

Simple (PP) and discounted (DPP) payback period is 5 months. Net present value (NPV) – RUB 763,540. Internal rate of return (IRR) – 30.3%. Profitability index (PI) – 1.08. With a relatively high discount rate, all these indicators indicate the effectiveness and investment attractiveness of the project.

9. WARRANTY AND RISKS

To assess the risks associated with the implementation of the project, an analysis of external and internal influencing factors is carried out.

Internal factors include:

    the actual quality of services is lower than planned - constant monitoring of feedback from visitors to the salon is required, confirmation of the qualifications of massage therapists and, if necessary, their replacement

    low quality of promotion of project services, which entails loss of profit, seems unlikely, but in this case it is necessary to provide for the involvement of qualified promotion specialists, including from Moscow

External factors include:

    actions of competitors, primarily in terms of price struggle, seem unlikely, since many players are working on the edge of profitability and a price reduction will be critical for them; however, it is necessary to provide for the possibility of increasing costs for promoting and improving the quality of project services, forming a pool of loyal customers; price reductions following competitors and dumping policies are unacceptable.

Market analysis

Today, people in Russia use cosmetic services quite actively. As a rule, women show interest in this area. One of the most popular offers is massage. It can be divided into 2 types:

  • cosmetic;
  • medicinal.

The first is responsible for the aesthetic component, the second helps fight various diseases and ailments.

Men use massage services somewhat less frequently.

The vast majority of visitors are women (more than 70%). These are either wealthy ladies who prefer cosmetic types of massage (anti-cellulite, firming and others), or women who have certain diseases for which massage is necessary.

We must not forget that to conduct therapeutic massage sessions, the master must have the appropriate qualifications.

Men rarely use cosmetic massage; usually these are rich and influential people who care about their appearance and want to bring themselves back to normal.

Massage is a service developed on the Russian market. Therefore, it will not be possible to come up with any new methods. An important factor will be whether the massage therapist has licenses and certificates. The ideal option is to hire someone who has regular clients.

If we analyze competitors, the greatest inconvenience will come from large cosmetology centers that are well-known in the city, as well as those who actively promote the salon through advertising. Treatment centers will also become a serious competitor in the market.

It is important to note that the competitive struggle of the main market players is not aimed at ousting rivals, but at maintaining their own positions. Simply put, everyone is interested in securing their own customer base.

To become a competitive massage salon, it will be necessary to offer affordable prices for services (preferably at the same level as average, but lower in the first stages). Particular attention will also have to be paid to advertising.

A positive point is the standardization of related products, which are not difficult to purchase.

Thus, the work of the massage parlor will be aimed at attracting mainly female and male persons aged 20-40 years.

Before starting work on a specific project, it is worth studying the massage services market and analyzing prices. Own value must be set based on demand and the average competitive price.

SWOT analysis

Strengths:

Availability of a professional massage therapist with extensive experience and his own client base.

The use of high-tech equipment, as well as well-known effective techniques that are in demand.

Providing high quality services.

Low level of initial and subsequent costs.

Free entry to the massage services market.

Individual work with each client.

Relevance and demand for the services offered.

Weak sides:

High level of competition.

A rather complex process of determining the qualifications of an employee being hired.

A long and labor-intensive process of finding suitable personnel.

Zero business reputation (no one has heard of the massage parlor or knows about the quality of the services provided).

Possibilities:

Working with loyal clients, attracting them to ongoing cooperation.

Favorable location of the massage parlor.

You can easily establish relationships with suppliers of high-quality equipment and necessary supplies.

Further expansion, opening of new points, provision of additional services.

Growth of income, profit.

Using outsourcing of any services, which will subsequently reduce the cost of costs.

Threats:

High indicators of possible risks.

Incorrect assessment of one's own capabilities.

Opportunity Assessment

The massage parlor will be open daily. The operating mode will be as follows:

Total: 80 hours.

Thus, the work will require at least two qualified specialists.

Seasonality does not particularly affect the work of the center. The flow usually increases during the pre-holiday and post-holiday periods. At this time, people like to give gift certificates and tidy themselves up.

Subsequent development is possible through the introduction of additional services, new offices, and expansion.

Organizational and legal issues:

  1. The first step is to decide on the OPF. You can choose either LLC or . The second option is more suitable, since it will be easier to register, and the tax regime is very flexible. In addition, individual entrepreneurs involve working with individuals, which corresponds to the services provided. The OKVED code when opening a massage parlor in most cases will be 93.04 - physical education and recreational activities.
  2. Obtaining appropriate permission from the fire service and SES, allowing you to operate the premises.
  3. Obtaining licenses to conduct medical massage, since this activity is one of the medical services. Relevant documents must be submitted to Roszdravnadzor.
  4. It is worth choosing or. In the case of the simplified tax system, taxes are paid either on income (6%) or on the difference between income and expenses (15%).
  5. We also recommend accepting payments from our clients by bank cards. To do this, you need to open a bank account. By the way, we wrote an article about.
  • At least 8 m2 must be allocated for any massage therapist. If 2 specialists work with a client at once, then it is necessary to have an office with an area of at least 12 m2.
  • The optimal size of a massage room will be 70 m2 if 2 massage therapists work simultaneously. It is necessary to have a bathroom, a bathroom, 2 massage rooms, and a reception area on the territory of the massage salon. It is better if each office has its own bathroom and bathroom.
  • It is better to immediately choose a commercial premises for rent. This could be an apartment, for example. You can also enter into an agreement with a fitness center that does not have its own massage room. In this case, refurbishment of the premises will be cheaper.
  • Try contacting the employment service, perhaps they will provide support to your organization as a small business. To do this, you must provide a detailed business plan for the project.

Description of service

Initially, visitors will be able to use the following services:

  • general body massage;
  • massage of individual areas;
  • Anticellulite massage.

Registration is carried out by phone through the administrator or on the website (group) of the organization. It would be ideal if the website allows customers to leave an online request or make a reservation for a specific time.

In the future, it is planned to open several more points. This massage room can be expanded to a maximum of 5 specialists. It will be impractical to hire more for one point, and the return on investment for the service will decrease.

When working with a client, the master solves certain problems and satisfies the needs of the visitor. An individual approach is applied to everyone.

It is very important to use high-quality oils that will not harm the body and skin in particular. These must be certified products from a reliable supplier.

To increase customer demand and trust, you need to hire qualified and experienced specialists. If you cannot assess professionalism yourself, you can consult with the administration of those organizations where the applicant for the position previously worked.

Marketing plan

Pricing strategy :

At first, the price should be below the average in this market segment. This will attract more customers. At the same time, the quality must be at the same level. You can change the price depending on the solvency of the client.

Service promotion strategy:

The main means of promotion will, of course, be advertising. The following varieties can be included:

  • Organization sign. It is also very important to come up with an interesting and memorable name.
  • "Word of mouth." This is the most effective advertising, and it’s free. It is based on informing potential clients through their friends and relatives. Its disadvantage is that it cannot be controlled by the organization’s administration. For incentives, you can use discount programs, for example: “Bring a friend, get a free massage session.”
  • Leaflets (distributed near the salon itself, placed in mailboxes in the area).
  • Internet promotion, including contextual advertising.
  • Creating your own website, group, advertising them.
  • Information in the media. You should not get carried away with this type of advertising. As a rule, this expensive method does not produce a large number of responses. You can, for example, limit yourself to advertising in a newspaper.

It is worth developing a system of discount cards, discounts dedicated to certain holidays, for example. A great idea would be to create gift certificates.

Let's calculate the planned revenue:

Name of service Price Quantity per month total revenues
General massage (1 hour) 800 rub. 45 36,000 rub.
Back massage (30 minutes) 350 rub. 100 35,000 rub.

Complex anti-cellulite massage (1 hour) 1,000 rub. 70 70,000 rub.
Total 405 hours RUR 352,500

2 massage therapists work simultaneously (four staff units in total). The monthly hourly output for all is 680. Only 405 hours are used. Therefore, only 59.56% of the opportunities are used.

Monthly income is 352,500 rubles.

Production plan

Financial plan

Monthly income - 352,500 rubles.

Initial costs – 672,900 rubles.

Calculation of periodic costs:

Thus, profit before tax will be equal to 352,500 – 281,700 = 70,800 rubles.

We calculate taxes based on the difference between income and expenses: 70,800 * 0.15 = 10,620 rubles.

Net profit will be equal to 70,800 – 10,620 = 60,180 rubles.

Let's calculate the payback period: 672,900/60,180 = 11.19. The project will pay for itself in a little less than a year.

Profitability will be equal to 100*(60,180/352,500) = 17%.

Today, Chinese massage is beginning to gain great popularity; you can try to open your own office in this direction.

A little more about obtaining a business license:

If the office provides medical massage, you must obtain a license. Otherwise, the organization may be subject to an administrative fine.

You will have to provide, among other things, the following documents: Goskomstat codes, certificates of registration and tax registration, lease agreement.

You will also need contracts with employees and their medical records. Each massage therapist must have at least 5 years of experience in this field! You will need a staffing table.

The equipment must also have certificates.

There are other aspects that will need to be taken into account. Of course, it is best to seek help from one of the companies providing legal services, because obtaining a license is labor-intensive and time-consuming (processing takes 30-45 days).

In any country, in any city, massage parlors or small offices are now very popular. In order to open such an office, you need to draw up a business plan for a massage parlor and collect the necessary documents. This is necessary to determine how quickly the investment will pay off and how quickly a permanent income will be generated.

A more accurate ready-made business plan for a massage parlor can only be calculated on the spot, at the prices of the region, district, city in which it was decided to open a massage parlor.

Massage salon: marketing

For small cities, opening a massage parlor can bring a decent income, which cannot be said about large cities, where there are already many such parlors.

Before opening a salon, you need to consider organizational issues. The location in the city and distance from the main competitors are of great importance for business. It is necessary to decide on the category of clients: either it will be a VIP salon, or it will be an accessible office for people with low incomes who spend most of their money in the store without thinking about their health.

However, according to experts, for medical reasons, only 30% visit a massage therapist, and 70% visit such salons to care for their body, face and for relaxation. Therefore, it is better to open a salon in elite residential areas.

This enterprise must be opened on the ground floor, just like a store. Ideally, each massage therapist needs a separate room, but not less than 8 sq.m., which can be found out from the SES documents. If you provide a couples massage (girlfriends, husband and wife), then two specialists can receive clients in a room with an area of 12 sq.m. For a massage salon, a room with an area of 70-100 square meters is sufficient, based on the number of massage therapists, other specialists, as well as the reception and administration. It is economically feasible to have no more than 5 jobs; it is better to open massage rooms in several places.

Competitive advantages of the massage room:

  • high level of customer service;
  • individual approach to each visitor;
  • stable reasonable prices;
  • nice atmosphere;
  • various preferential and bonus programs.

Attracting customers is possible in different ways: word of mouth, having a good sign at the salon, advertisements, leaflets. Expensive advertising is usually ineffective.

How to open a massage parlor, why and what documents are needed?
When organizing this business, the following documents are required:

  • registration of this enterprise with the tax authorities;
  • A license is required for certain types of massage.

A license is required to open an orthopedic salon. And for such an office it is necessary to purchase special orthopedic equipment, which an online store can offer.

Massage business can be carried out in several directions:

  • massage and cosmetology salon (classical therapeutic, acupressure, Thai and other types of massage);
  • SPA salon (gel, chocolate, honey, grape wraps; salt, sugar scrubs) relax, soothe the body;
  • thermo- and cryo-wraps, anti-cellulite massage;
  • salon for relaxation, relaxation in the pool, sauna (aroma baths with natural ingredients, extracts and hydromassage).

The business plan of a massage establishment takes into account equipment for offices and materials for repairs. You need to start with renovating the premises. The walls and floors of the massage room must be finished with tiles or washable wallpaper, which, according to the requirements of the SES, are treated with a special solution once a week. A bathroom must be installed in the massage room.

The medical equipment store offers a wide selection of special equipment for these rooms:

  • a massage table;
  • couch (2-3 is enough);
  • rack for cosmetics.

A massage therapist needs essential oils to work; for regular massage you can use olive oil. A wholesale store can offer oils cheaper, which is impossible to get at retail.

For visitors to this enterprise, it is necessary to lay out towels; for 15 visitors, 20 towels are required, which are washed daily.

A specialized store can offer a large selection of necessary furniture. In the reception area of this enterprise, in the utility room, the following furniture can be placed:

  • table;
  • sofa, armchairs;
  • closet;
  • washing machine;
  • telephone set;
  • towels

Massage room staff

A business plan for a massage parlor or salon also includes personnel costs. The success of the salon depends on massage specialists who work either in shifts or on order. Finding a good massage therapist with regular clients is not very easy; they can conduct a private practice or work in another salon. How to find good specialists and what to offer them is a serious question.

The massage therapist must master not only European, but also oriental massage, also improve his qualifications, obtain the necessary documents confirming his qualifications.

The salary of a massage therapist is usually 30-50% of the cost of the session. A massage therapist, depending on experience, can serve from 4 to 8 people per day.

The salon, in addition to massage therapists, needs 2 administrators, an accountant who can work part-time, and a cleaner. You can start the work of the office by combining these functions by one employee or the owner himself, the director.

Payback of massage business

During the first period of operation, a massage parlor can count on 5-7 client visits, and after two to three months of operation, 7-10 clients are possible. A regular massage lasts 20-60 minutes, a relaxing massage lasts up to 1.5 hours. The break between sessions is 20-30 minutes. After three months, at full capacity, a salon with five specialists can serve up to 25-30 clients.

Typically, massage services are in demand in the spring, there is a decline in summer, and in winter and autumn interest is usually average.

The cost of a massage depends on its type and duration and can range from 600 to 3000 rubles.

Experts estimate the profitability of the massage business at 20-40%. Payback is possible within a year, or even in a shorter period, 3-6 months.

Modern people are increasingly experiencing need for massage treatments. Sitting at the computer for a long time in a static position, stress, the desire to give a better shape to your body more and more actively require massage intervention. Therefore, when opening a massage parlor, you can have no doubt about the success of this necessary business. Although this project does not involve large financial investments, and its payback period usually does not exceed several months, in order for the results of the project to only please the businessman, it is necessary to carefully work out his business plan.

1. General description of the business plan.

1.1. Choosing a room.

The optimal location for a massage room may become elite and residential areas. If the client wants to relax and unwind, the massage room should not be far from his home. If you find yourself in the office medical massage services, then the potential client will visit him regardless of his position.

People always find it more pleasant to be in small, cozy offices. According to the standard, a massage room cannot be less than 8 m². If the office is designed for two people, then its area can be increased by another 4 m². At the same time, if the owner wants clients to come to him more often, it is better to perform massage services on the ground floor.

1.2. Organization of premises and purchase of equipment.

Ideally, a massage room should have a bathroom, including a bathroom. The massage room must be kept clean, so for ease of cleaning, it is better to cover the floor and walls with tiles.

Clients will highly appreciate the massage establishment, if his reception room beautifully accommodates a comfortable sofa and a chic table. In the office itself, massage tables and couches are installed. For the convenience of the massage therapist’s work, a cabinet or rack is also needed. A medical equipment store can help you choose suitable furniture. We should not forget about purchasing such necessary things as a towel, washing machine, bottles of oil.

1.3. Personnel search.

To make a massage therapist popular among clients, he must have skills in all styles of massage. A person trusting his body to a massage therapist must be confident in his qualifications and knowledge of basic massage techniques. It is very difficult to find a good massage therapist, and even more difficult to get him a job. If a person is truly a powerful specialist in the field of massage, then you should not skimp when determining with him the amount of payment for his work.
The massage therapist, as a rule, has 30-50% of the price of the service. The profitability of the office may be higher if massage therapists work in two shifts and also provide on-site services.

1.4. Search for clients.

If a massage therapist works skillfully, then positive reviews about him will spread very quickly. An outstanding name of the establishment, as well as laconic advertising in crowded places, can attract the desired client. The project will benefit if about fifteen people come to two jobs per day.

2. Financial calculations.

Under favorable conditions, this project will pay off in 3-4 months. The profitability of a massage room is at the level of 20-30%. It is more profitable to open an office on the eve of the warm season, since at this time self-care becomes especially important.
According to average estimates, to organize a massage room with two tables, an amount equal to 300 thousand rubles is required. If the conceived business plan is implemented optimally, then monthly revenue can also reach about 300 thousand rubles. An example of detailed financial calculations for opening a massage parlor can be found and downloaded on websites dealing with this topic.
